A good jolt this morning………….

CaptureWe were awakened at about 4:25 this morning by a good solid bump on the house and some rattling dishes, etc. The University of Washington seismic center confirms that at 4:24 AM today (October 29) there was a 3.2 quake centered 42 miles West- Northwest of Entiat which by previous earthquake placements would put it probably about 10 or 15 miles West-Northwest from Lake Wenatchee but the star on the map showing the location of todays incident shows it right underneath our house on the South Shore of Lake Wenatchee. It was followed about 8 minutes later by a small aftershock which we did not feel. You can see the UW seismic page at http://www.pnsn.org/earthquakes/recent
Once the map is on your screen, double-clicking on the map will zoom it in. The USGS earthquake site also pinpoints in almost directly under our home. Yikes……………

Yep, felt it also and heard the windows rattling. That’s probably the 3rd or 4th this quake this year.

I’d just laid back down when I heard a roaring sound for a couple of seconds and then an immediate explosion. My cabin at Kahler Glen shook from the explosion, thought my rock wall along my driveway may have fallen but it was still standing. I was in Tokyo during the 9.0 quake in 2011 and there the quakes don’t feel or sound like this one sounded!
