The Chelan County Sheriff reports that numerous burglaries and thefts have occurred in the Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth areas with a substantial amount of property stolen. Summer cabins in our area have been targeted.
This investigation has identified a suspect in these burglaries as Kevin M Waters , a 33 year old white male, 5’11, 185 lbs. There are warrants outstanding for his arrest. He may have altered his hair color to blond and perhaps uses heavy eye liner. He has been observed carrying a handgun on his hip and drives a blue Subaru Legacy with primer gray fenders and stickers on the rear window. He is believed to be camping in remote areas off Forest Service roads in the area. He was recently observed by a deputy in the Lake Wenatchee area who attempted to stop him but the suspect would not yield and the deputy was precluded from pursuing him under constraints of new Washington State law.
If you are a property owner in the Lake Wenatchee area and have not visited your property recently the Sheriff’s Department recommends you have your property checked for intrusion or theft.
CAUTION: The Sheriff warns the public not to confront or attempt to detain Waters. Call 911 immediately if he is observed. See the complete sheriffs’ release on this subject at County of Chelan, Washington
