Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth is coordinating with the Washington State Hospital Association, the Department of Health and the State Health Care Authority as well as a number of rural communities across the state to identify strategies to ensure that healthcare remains available and accessible to rural residents. To support this work, we will be conducting a series of community discussion groups in mid to late May; the purpose of these groups is to talk to residents about the future of rural healthcare and to gain a better understanding of what a healthy community means to them.
Each discussion group will have 10-12 participants. They will last for no longer than 90 minutes. Light refreshments will be provided. The groups will be guided by an independent moderator who is not from the Hospital, and all comments will be reported in a summary format. Health Facilities Planning & Development, Seattle, the group that we be conducting the discussion groups will be calling households to ask you to attend one of these groups.
