There will be a meeting on Wed the 16th to gather public input on the recreational uses of the Coulter Block. The goal is to get a sense of past and current recreation uses of the Chinook Forest Partners lands around Coulter and Roaring Creek on the south side of Highway 2 across from the Nason Rest Area. These lands are currently under option by the Trust for Public Lands, and we are utilizing the Nason Ridge Stewardship Group format as local experts to help understand the recreation value and potential for these lands. A basic meeting agenda is as follows:
- Welcome and Introductions
- Purpose of Meeting: Coulter Block Assessment effort
- Group map work to identify existing and future access points and recreational uses
- Past and current recreation uses/oportunities
- Connections with adjacent lands
- Potential conflicts, issues, and landowner considerations
- Desired future opportunities
- Recreation and Access Objectives
- Wrap up and next steps
