Steve Foley of Plain is the new Fire Chief of Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue, stepping into the shoes of retiring Chief David Walker. Foley assumed the position at a change of command ceremony at the fire district on March 24. He has been a member of the fire department since 2009 and has filled several supervisory roles in the department. Chief Walker had served as Chief since 2020, capping a fire service career that began when Dave was 16 and a fire Explorer Scout. He began a full- time firefighting career the day he turned 21 years of age and subsequently retired as a Battalion Chief with the Kirkland WA Fire Department.
Thank you for your years of service to our community, Dave, and best wishes to Chief Foley in your new and challenging role….
