A resident on North Shore has recently noticed extensive damage to Doug Fir trees on their property. Evidently the damage is from a well know pest in our area, the Doug Fir Beetle. Many of us have witnessed first hand the damage beetles can inflict as we travel over Blewett Pass. The question has come up as to whether an effective spray treatment may be available to home owners or if mechanical elimination of dying trees is the only remedy. Are there knowledgeable resources available to help manage private and public forests? Please join us on our Facebook page to discuss potential solutions to assist our neighbors as they attempt to control this threat to our trees.
