Mick Lamar, Chief of Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue, was recently recognized as the Emergency Medical Service Administrator of the Year by the Greater Wenatchee Area EMS Council. The ceremony was held in Wenatchee on May 31 and recognized six agencies and individuals for their contribution to the delivery of emergency medical services in the area.
Mick has led his department though a transition from responding to aid calls only when summoned essentially for manpower assistance to responding with Cascade Medical to all aid calls in our area. The working arrangement now in place with Cascade has LWFR firefighters and Cascade EMS personnel responding together in a coordinated, cooperative response with the result being a more rapid dispatch, deployment and arrival of responders. To date this year LWFR has responded to 39 medical calls aiding citizens with issues ranging from nose bleeds to heart attacks and strokes. Comments
