Fireworks prohibited except New Years Eve hours

 Per the Chelan County Code, fireworks are prohibited County-wide in unincorporated Chelan County with the exception of from 6PM on December 31st to 1:00 AM January 1st when common fireworks may be used.

Common fireworks are fireworks designed primarily to produce visible or audible effects by combustion. Effective June 22, 1988, the term includes gound and hand-held sparkling devices, including items commonly known as dipped sticks, sparklers, cylindrical fountains, cone fountains, illuminating torches, wheels, ground spinners, fitter sparklers and smoke devices;  the term does not include fireworks commonly known as firecrackers, salutes, chasers, skyrockets, missile-type rockets, helicopters, aerials, spinners, Roman candles, mines shells and Class C explosives classified as common fireworks by the U.S. Department of Transportation, unless such Class C explosives are approved by the fire chief or his designee.

Any device that leaves the ground is prohibited.
