Local resident and neighbor Keith Fast has conducted a couple of cyber-security awareness events for our local folks in the past and will do so again at 6PM on Wednesday, April 27th, at the Ponderosa Community clubhouse, 21100 Cayuse Street. Keith has worked 27 years in the Information Technology industry, with a focus on securing data systems for small and mid-sized businesses. There is no charge to attend and this is not an event to solicit any kind of paid services by Keith. See registration instructions below.
We’re hearing more and more about Ransomware, Malware, viruses, data breaches and compromised accounts. If the financial institutions and Government agencies can’t keep our data secure, what can we do? A lot more than you think! The steps you should take to protect yourself from the cyber criminals that are looking to steal your data and investments will be covered.
Spoiler ALERT- For those who attended Keith’s sessions in the past, the content is mostly the same, with updates on new risks and mitigations that have occurred over the last couple of years, feel free to return for a refresher! Keith will discuss steps to secure your online identity, accounts, email, and your computer in an open forum that will allow you to ask questions and provide you the tools you will need to build your own online security strategy.
