Just a heads-up that we got about 18 inches of snow since 6PM last evening and it\’s still snowing- perhaps to change to rain later this morning. At just about 32 degrees this is pretty heavy stuff. It has created multiple slides in Tumwater Canyon resulting in Highway 2 being closed from Coles Corner to Leavenworth. The Chumstick Highway through Plain is open. Highway 2 over Stevens has been closed intermittently for avalanche control and chains are required on all non-four-wheel drive vehicles. Washington DOT websites will have current info on those situations.
This heavy stuff coming off pitched roofs can be lethal so be wary of walking under those eaves \’˜til this tuff comes off.
UPDATE 12:10 pm Tumwater CANYON BETWEEN COLES CORNER AND LEAVENWORTH IS NOW OPEN.
Other than that- enjoy this snow we\’ve been waiting for…………………….
