On the evening of October 27th K9 Reno of the Chelan County Sheriff’s Department was struck by a car while chasing a felony suspect. On 11-8-2016 Reno went through surgery to strengthen his elbow. The surgeon had to place two screws into his elbow and bicep to hold the fracture in place. This surgery will allow Reno to have full range of motion and hopefully no arthritis down the road. With “doggy” physical therapy the vet is confident that Reno will make a full recovery. He is up and walking around but will be very limited in activity. Hopefully Reno and his partner Deputy Aaron Shepard will be back on the road again together by January.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office relies heavily on donations to support their K-9 program. If you would like to make a donation to the K-9 program to help with Reno’s medical expenses, please go to the GoFundMe or contact Chief Civil Deputy Valerie Seacrest 509-667-6835 COMMENTS
