Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue held it’s annual appreciation banquet on January 13th at the Pine River Ranch to recognize the work and successes this year of firefighters and auxiliary members. Over 140 persons celebrated a challenging fire year in which many accomplishments highlighted the mission and goal of the fire district- to save lives and protect property. Representatives of Rivercom, neighboring fire districts, Cascade Medical and Sheriff Brian Burnett shared the evening. Auxiliary President Dennis Broughton presented a check for $40,000 to the firefighters association which was raised through the auxiliary’s annual Labor Day garage sale and Christmas pancake breakfast/bazaar/bake sale. The funds are used to purchase equipment and training materials for the fire department.
