Logging operations near Chelan PUD’s water treatment facilities will mean more truck traffic
LAKE WENATCHEE – Chelan County PUD is doing some large tree removal in the irrigation field at its water treatment facility off of the Beaver Valley Highway near Lake Wenatchee. The tree harvesting on 12 of the 122 acres of PUD land is necessary due to the over-growth of a wide variety of tree species in the area near the utility’s wastewater treatment irrigation field. Trees are blocking the sprinklers that are used in the field.
The logging operation on the PUD property will mean an increase in the number of large trucks and logging trucks entering and exiting the highway. The work will take about two months to complete, weather-dependent. The public is asked to stay away from entering the immediate site for safety reasons and to be cautious near the entrance and exit points on the Beaver Valley Highway.
The map above gives an idea of where the activity will occur. Crews will be working during the day, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
