Parts of the area, are now on level 1 alert for the Little Giant Fire, here is the lastest info from LWFR:
Little Giant Fire Community Update 7-25-26
A Complex Incident Management Team arrived in Plain Thursday night and has officially assumed command of the Little Giant and Dirty Face fires.
The Dirty Face fire has received some water drops from helicopters over the last few days and remains small and continues to cool. The larger dynamic Little Giant fire is currently burning in steep terrain several miles up Chiwawa River Road, driven by winds pushing largely toward the East. As seen in the photo below, fire activity in pockets of dead and living timber has at times created prominent smoke columns visible across the county. The fire remains several miles outside LWFR district boundaries in the Fish Lake area.
This is a dynamic fire with conditions that can change rapidly. Please pay attention to fire information, area closures, and evacuation notices that are designed with public safety in mind.
