Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue held it’s annual appreciation banquet Wednesday evening April 16 at the Pine River Ranch. Highlights of the evening were the recognition of Bridget Dancs as Firefighter of the Year for 2024 and the LWFR Auxiliary presentation of a check for $100,000 to the LWFR Firefighters Association.
The funds raised by the Auxiliary will be used to support the ongoing needs of equipment and training. The 2024-25 Auxiliary fundraising year included Benevolent Events at Squirrel Tree, Blewett Brewing, Muchen Haus, Wildflour, Plain Cellars, and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, and included events such as a community Safety Day, KMC Women’s Golf Tournament, Annual Yard Sale, and Holiday Pancake Breakfast. The Auxiliary also provided the much-needed volunteers to assist with traffic control for the Northwest Central Washington Tour De Bloom race held in Plain. The Auxiliary would like to thank its hard-working members, the many volunteers within the community, as well as the generous donations from friends, neighbors, and businesses throughout Leavenworth and Chelan County.
