The annual Moonlight Music Fest is Saturday, August 17th.  This summer concert has been running for over ten years now. Originally in the Plain Hardware parking lot, it became a fundraiser for the local volunteer fire department, with donations raised going to buy equipment and provide necessary training.

The success of the concert soon saw it outgrow its home, and the music was moved across the street to the woods and fields in the heart of Plain. The new venue allowed space for more than just music. Soon, food and a car show were added, featuring classic and contemporary vehicles and bringing enthusiasts from around Washington.

This year the program is moving to an earlier time frame, taking advantage of beautiful summer weather here in Plain. Running from 2-7pm, the concert will feature two bands, The 509s and Mugsy’s Groove. Admission is free, donations are appreciated. Car show participants can still show up the day of the festivities and look for the sign to their special entrance.

Despite its growth and success, the concert continues to be very much a local affair of friends, families, neighbors, and guests coming together at a beautiful location in the mountains, on a summer weekend to celebrate a community.

Stop in. Bring a chair, Dance!
