Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue held its annual appreciation/recognition banquet at Pine River Ranch on Wednesday evening, January 16th. Over 120 firefighters, auxiliary members and their spouses or friends attended the event. They were joined by Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett, Rivercom Executive Director Jim Fosse and the LWFR Commissioners. Retiring Assistant Chief Bill Moffat was recognized for his service to the fire district and Firefighter Josiah Norby was named the 2018 Firefighter of the Year. Auxiliary President Bob Jennings presented a check for $42,000 to Firefighters Association President Mike Stanford. Those funds, raised by the auxiliarys annual yard sale and pancake breakfast events, will be used to acquire equipment and training materials essential to the districts mission of saving lives and protecting property.
