The Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue Auxiliary honored five of their own on May 4th, recognizing a combined 115 years of service by five members now retiring from active participation. Sharen George, JoAnn Fountain, Barbara Weeks and Sharon and Ed Deiner were among the original nine founders of this remarkable organization which has now grown to 110 members. During those years the Auxiliary has accomplished some amazing things; feeding local and out-of-state firefighters battling wildfire here, feeding our own firefighters during long-running incidents, and raising over $260,000 to purchase equipment and training materials to further the fire departments core mission of savings lives and property. If you see any of these folks that began this dynamic organization please give them all a big thank you for all that they have done.
