Memorial Day Hiking

Alpine FieldsMemorial Day is often the beginning of the Lake Wenatchee Hiking season, at least on the lower elevation trails. Winter storm damage is going to continue to be challenging. Hidden Lake Trail has still not been opened. We hiked Dirty Face on Mother’s Day and it has both blow downs and snow above 5200′, trip report. For up to date info check for recent Hiking Trip Reports on the Washington Trails Assoc site. www.WTA.org, If you go exploring leave a trip report when you return. The WTA provides the best source of up to date trail info and organizes 100,000 hours of volunteer labor on the trails thru out the state. Lakewenatcheeinfo donates proceeds to the WTA along with Camp Zanika, the Y camp, the Plain Food Bank, the Chelan Douglas Land Trust and the Fire Dept.

Agree, we tried hiking Nason Ridge via the Kahler Glen trailhead and it is completely blocked up the entire trail. We couldnt get remotely close to Big Red. Every 20ft a tree is across the trail and it gets worse as the trail gets tighter higher up.
