A new/startup fire in our area was reported Wednesday evening, July 2, South of Highway 2 at milepost 80:
LWFR, WA DNR and USFS crews are working the White Pine Fire. It is currently at 26 acres and stayed within yesterday’s containment lines. Crews are re-engaging this morning. Evacuation levels are: Everything off Gill Creek is level 2 and everything between White Pine and mile post 80 are level 1 on the north side of Highway 2.
Keep up on evacuation levels on the Chelan County Emergency Incidents Map. Fire threat remains with winds and exceptionally dry conditions. Please avoid Lake Wenatchee airstrip which us being used to combat both the Pomas and White Pine fires. The Apple Acres fire near Chelan is also taxing regional resources.
Thanks to our LWFR volunteers and their partners out there: Chelan fire districts 3 and 6, the USFS, DNR, BNSF, BPA, CCPUD, CCSO.
