LWFR high res logoLake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue would like to remind residents that is has been a very dry summer and open burning is particularly dangerous this year.


Things to know before you burn

  • Burn barrels are illegal.
  • Where residential burning is allowed, the burn pile must be smaller than 4’x4’x3′.
  • You may burn only one pile at a time.
  • Do not leave your fire unattended.
  • A person capable of extinguishing the fire must attend it at all times
  • The fire must be extinguished before leaving it.
  • Burn unprocessed natural vegetation only.
  • Your smoke must not impact your neighbors and you must put out your fire if it does.
  • The fire should not include materials hauled from another property.
  • It is illegal to burn construction and demolition debris.
  • No open burning after sunset
  • No fires are to be within fifty feet of structures.
  • Instead of burning to get rid of vegetation, try composting and chipping.
