UPDATE: 9:00 AM 8-20-26 There is a heavy smoke presence this AM, particularly at the East end of the lake. Some breeze did come up y’day afternoon that cleared smoke out for a while making it possible for air tanker operations off the lake to operate. Cascade Medical Foundation’s annual fundraising concert, Jive Time in the Cascades, returns Saturday, Aug. 29, to Silvara Cellars, 77 Stage Road, Leavenworth.

Popular local band, Bandits of the Animal Kingdom, take the stage at 6 p.m., offering pop covers and original music with engaging vocal harmonies and a mix of instruments that include mandolin, ukulele, guitar, bass and saxophone!

Some local folks have set up donation accounts at Midway Grocery and Plain Hardware to provide coffee or soft drinks to the crews here working the fires.
