We have heard from several neighbors/friends in our area the last few months of the cancellation of their home insurance due to what is perceived to be a heightened fire threat in our area. Our insurance is with State Farm and so far as we know to date that coverage is not in jeopardy,
Some local folks have organized two public meetings to be held this week to exchange information on fire insurance cancellations. One will be held at 7PM on Thursday evening, January 30, at the Fire District 3 station on the Chumstick Highway in Leavenworth. The other will be held at 7PM Friday evening, January 31, at the Rec Club at the airstrip on the Chiwawa Loop Road at Lake Wenatchee.
If you’ve received correspondence from your insurer concerning continuance or cancellation of your property insurance please bring those documents with you to the meetings.
