County assessor to hold informational meeting for Plain, Lake Wenatchee property owners:
Plain and Lake Wenatchee property owners are invited to a community meeting with Chelan County Assessor Deanna Walter and County Commissioner Bob Bugert to talk about 2022 assessed property valuations. The meeting will be 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, July 26, at the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club at the airstrip at 14400 Chiwawa Loop Road.
Walter will give a summary of how property taxes are administered as well as how property values are assessed and those factors that impact a property’s value. She also will answer questions from the public. This meeting is a follow-up to Bugert’s recent community meeting in Plain, when residents raised concerns about increases in their assessed property values. Many property owners across Chelan County and the region continue to see increases in the value of their homes and property, which is due to a number of factors, including home sales, new construction costs, construction supply issues, mortgage rates and other issues.
