As part of their overall efforts to lessen fire risks and develop fire hardening plans throughout the county, the Chelan PUD is looking at the Plain and Lake Wenatchee areas. They have heard there may be increased support in our area for the PUD to revisit plans to upgrade equipment, poles and lines due to recent fires as well as ice storms in the area. The PUD knows that customers value reliable service, and they are looking for ways to maintain strong levels of reliability. Potential projects includes hardening existing lines, relocating lines that are in high fire risk areas and possibly building a section of line to connect the system. All of these measures would increase reliability for the area and reduce the impact of wildfire to PUD equipment.
The PUD will be holding public meetings in Plain and Leavenworth next week to further that process. You are encouraged to be part of this process to let the PUD hear your thoughts on their service and proposed upgrades to service in the Plain/Lake Wenatchee area. The meetings will be:
Wednesday, July 17, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Beaver Valley Lodge (the first building immediately South of Plain Grocery)
18630 Beaver Valley Road, Plain
Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m. – Noon

222 Chumstick Highway, Leavenworth
