Firewise Volunteering Opportunity
On River Road, near Plain Washington, we have a wonderful opportunity to help one of our neighbors by making his home Firewise. This fuel reduction project will include removal of small trees and limbing larger trees to eliminate ladder fuels making his house Firewise safe. This will also include removal of brush, pine
needles and debris out 30 feet from his house and limbing trees out 100 feet around his house. All brush and limbs will be stacked for chipping by Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue.
We need volunteers to work this project on June 7, 2024 and will likely take the
full day to finish. The address of the fuel reduction work party is 16325 River
Road. The plan is to meet at 9am. Please call Franklin French at 253-255-8271 to sign up for this project. This project will also help keep this portion of of our community certified as a Firewise Community and will also provide an example for other neighbors what a Firewise house and property should look like.
