Short-term rentals/vacation rentals have become a very controversial issue in our area and a plan to codify/standardize operating standards for that industry are currently being considered by the County.

A draft version of the proposed code development for short term rentals/vacation rentals is now available for public viewing on the Chelan County website at

Several workshops have taken place for the County Commissioners and Planning Commission to review, educate themselves, ask questions and provide direction as to the next steps in the process of management of short term rentals. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on at 7:00 PM on July 24, 2019, at a location yet to be determined.
