TRAVEL ALERT FROM WSDOT: Pavement repairs to a section of Chumstick Highway at Beaver Valley Hill are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29 beginning at 7 a.m.
Drivers should plan for delays of up to 30 minutes while the emergency contractor completes repairs. Work will continue throughout the day and is expected to be complete by 8 p.m.
Repairs are necessary to mitigate pavement and slope failure at this location. Chumstick Highway is the detour route for US 2 Tumwater Canyon, which has been closed since Dec. 11, 2025. There is still no                                                 estimated time to reopen Tumwater Canyon.
