The record run of sockeye this year is providing a great opportunity to see sockeye spawning up the White River. There are 1000s of fish visible from the bridge just before Tall Timber and along the White River Road at mile post 4.6.
It is quite clear that the fishing season didn’t decrease the numbers of fish going up the rivers in any measurable way. This is by far the most fish we have observed in watching the fall migration for the last 25 years.
