Summer Job Openings at Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp.

Morning Circle upWe are looking to fill a couple positions this summer here at the Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp.  We are looking for a Head Cook and a Maintenance Assistant.  These are seasonal jobs that start in May and end in September.

The Camp Head Cook must possess skills and experience in food service management, staff supervision, and customer service.  Must have previous experience in commercial or institutional food service, preferably serving groups of up to 150 people.  Camp Kitchen activities require physical stamina, heavy lifting, and the ability to move through rough terrain.  First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications must be current and maintained.  A current food handler’s permit is required.  The Camp Head Cook must be committed to the Wenatchee Valley YMCA mission; the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility; and the enhancement of developmental assets in children.  Seasonal housing may be available for the right candidate.

The Maintenance Assistant must be 18 years of age or older.  The duties for this position include janitorial, grounds keeping, dish washing and basic repairs.  The Maintenance Assistant will work with a variety of staff, rental groups, and campers and as a part of our summer staff team this person will also have duties working with youth and may be used in a cabin to help provide night time supervision.  The Maintenance Assistant must be committed to the mission of the Wenatchee Valley YMCA and an advocate for the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.  Residence at the Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp is required during the summer season as described in the letter of agreement (typically Memorial Day- Labor Day).  Room and board is provided during seasonal employment.

All positions must have CPR/AED, First Aid, and Valid WA State Food Handler’s Permit prior to the first day of work. Room and board may be provided in addition to salaries during employment.
