The Washington State Parks Foundation is sponsoring an outline petition, here, asking the state legislators to maintain critical funding for the State Parks system. As you have probably seen, the covid-19 pandemic has lead to a massive increase in outdoor activities. The parking lots at the State Park have been full on many weekends this winter by midday. The deadline on the petition is Friday 2/12 at midnight.
Local residents are working with the Lake Wenatchee Park Staff on a number of significant improvements, most importantly a pedestrian bridge across the Wenatchee River. This will keep walkers and bikers from having to negotiate the dangerous bridge on the Lake Wenatchee Highway. Stay Tuned.
