Just a heads up that there are a lot more people moving around our area now with the opening of camps and campgrounds and with that comes the possibility of some mischief.  Some neighborhoods in our area have recently formed neighborhood watch groups.

The residents of a home in the 17800 block of North Shore Drive at Lake Wenatchee woke in the middle of the night to a sound in their home and found several lights on that they would not have left on. The doors were unlocked. The inhabitants did not actually find anyone in the home but believe there may have been that was spooked away when they started moving around in response to the noise. The previous evening the same residents had seen an unidentified vehicle come down an adjoining road late at night, departing after several minutes. Both incidents have been reported to the Sheriff’s Department.

Our former quiet little neighborhoods here are changing some and with that the need to be alert to what is going on around us. If you observe or suspect activity that doesn’t seem right, make note of it or call someone. Gut feelings count for a lot in situations like that so don’t be intimidated from calling. Like “they” say:  If you see something, say something.

If you don’t feel your suspicions warrant a call to 911 or an emergency response, you can always call 509-663-9911,  the non-emergency number at Rivercom (police and fire dispatch) to pass on your concerns.
