On the South Shore of Lake Wenatchee we had two large adult bears, one black/one cinnamon, patrolling the neighborhood wthin a quarter mile of each other last night about 11PM. Photos of both are included here. Trash had been picked up y’day so we didn’t have any trash in our cans but it’s definitely time to be sure your trash is secured until pickup day.
Night before last a bear went after a freezer located on an outside deck just East of us. The freezer was successfully opened and the contents strewn about and eaten.
The critters are definitely here with us and active. Keep your trash and food items secured and be cautious too when walking outside in the hours of darkness- several years ago a North Shore resident was badly mauled while walking his dog at night.
