The bears are out and hungry.  Saw this Mom and her cub along the North Shore Road this afternoon and our trash cans have been overturned the last couple nights. Hearing similar stories from others on both sides of the lake so beware-  there’s apparently a lack of food out there this year and the bears are scavenging. Be cautious moving around outside during hours of darkness-  if out there make a lot of noise so you don’t startle them. A local resident was badly mauled a few years ago while walking his dog during hours of darkness and startled a malnourished bear.
