This event has traditionally been a fundraiser for Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue. This year our fundraising focus will be on helping the family of the Okanagan County volunteer firefighter seriously burned last Saturday in the “Grass Valley Fire” near Coulee City. Firefighter Brett Read remains in the burn unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and his wife and three kids can use our help since he can’t return to work for awhile.
This years event starts earlier and features a custom car show and a Las Vegas Mentalist /Magic show. The cars will start showing up around 4:00.
The entertainment starts at 5:00pm with a terrific magic/mentalism show by the amazing Maritess Zurbano. Google her- she is a top notch performer that you will want to see. She has played Las Vegas and all over the world. This isn’t just a show for kids- it’s great show for kids of all ages. She uses non-stop audience participation with feats that impress even the most analytical minds, while having laughs and a lot of fun. Watch as any audience member calls out playing cards and they instantly appear in her hands. See her read the minds of volunteers, even without their permission.
This show is family friendly and has amazed sophisticated audiences around the world. Don’t miss this amazing show!
Kari Novokoff will be doing her amazing faceprinting for kids starting at 5.
The music starts at 6:30 with opening act the 509’s followed by the feature band of Charlie Butts & the Filter Tip. The Old Mill Cafe will be on site with their food truck selling spaghetti dinners with proceeds
donated to the Brett Read Family. The full dinner will consist of spaghetti, a caesar salad and garlic bread for $13.00. After dinner, how about a sweet treat to eat while you enjoy the music? The Old Mill will be selling classic “elephant ears” for $5.00. There are picnic tables available to eat at.
Park on site this year. Drive in the long driveway across from State Haul Road in downtown Plain and you will find volunteers to help you get parked. If you have a cool car, bring it and display it.
