Plain Valley Ski Trails is presenting its inaugural Tour de Plain 4-stage race series. The series will offer different courses for both beginners and for those after some speed.
Races will be self timed, so you can race anytime during the day see below for details. Racers’ standings from individual races are tallied up after all stages and the final rankings of the season are assigned based on each skier’s two best races.
Sat, Mar 6 – TBD
The race starts from Clear Creek Lodge, goes through Swamp Creek Loop to the Stonewater Loop, and heads back to the Clear Creek Lodge. The course is beginner friendly and offers scenic views of the main section of our trail system. The course is marked with orange arrow signs, and most of it has two-way traffic, so we ask participants to keep to the right side whenever not alone on the course.Registration: $10
To register go to here. Note: trail passes are required and can be purchased here. PVST is a 501c3 non-profit and funds raised go to the youth ski team to help with summer camp expenses.Self-timing
Timing will be managed by each racer’s smart phone with Webscorer Race Timer app scanning QR codes at start, finish, and two points along the race course. The QR codes are marked visibly and scanning can be done without internet connection; if a racer’s phone has connection, all times upload automatically.COVID-19 accommodations
For safety reasons, there will be no mass start and racers can choose their own start time during the day of February 14. No race swag or awards will be handed out. Social distancing and masks where necessary are required on Plain Valley Ski Trails.
More detailed info on the course, instructions for self-timing, and COVID-19 related measures will be sent out in the pre-race email to participants and posted on www.skiplain.com.
Support Plain Valley Ski Team
We love sharing our passion for skiing with the kids in our community. The life lessons learned while young skiers participate in a well-organized ski program will help to shape them into outstanding young adults. Our goal is to make participating both fun and affordable. We are working hard to keep registration fees low by involving the greater community in supporting the Plain Valley Nordic Team (PVNT). We are a registered non-profit.
This winter (20/21) we have 102 local children skiing in our program! This is providing them (and their parents) a critical outlet for their energy during the current Covid crisis.
