Two words – Yak Traks!
Our recent thaw/freeze cycles have set up very slippery spring ice over many surfaces.
Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue  has responded to numerous calls involving falls. Some can be quite serious when a hip or head is involved.
It happens very fast. Salt and sand can help problem areas. “Walk like a penquin” is great advice.
Proactively utilizing some brand of foot traction before you hit the ice will literally save you a headache.
