The first volunteer work party at the State Park last week foundered because we got just enough snow to cover the slash and make the work tougher.
There have been about a half-dozen folks come forward willing to help out as the snow melts, plus one group of skiers/supporters from Seattle who will probably be here this coming Saturday (March 9th) to clean up in the snow-free area down by the playgrounds, etc.
Any folks interested in helping out are asked to call the park at 763-3101. Volunteers will come in handy as the snow melts, and particularly after park staff / hired contractors have done the heavy clean up work. Park managers are working on a contract to go out to bid shortly for a timber sale.
