Winton mill to be re-activated

An Oregon company has taken a lease with option to buy on the Winton Mill to use the site to manufacture oil-rig mats. The plant will employ 50 to 60 people and is expected to be in production in July.

According to the story, the plant will employ a variety of workers with skills similar to those needed in a sawmill, including glue laminators, welders, fabricators, general laborers and equipment operators. Wages will range from $16 to $18 per hour for welders.
