Winter is in full swing around Lake Wenatchee. To check the Status of your favorite outdoor activity here is a quick guide.
Weather: With major weather coming in later this week, here is the forecast link..
XC Ski Grooming: Many of the XC Ski trails around the lake are now open and groomed, with additional snow this week all should be open by Saturday. Here is the current grooming report.
Snowmobiling: With hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobiling trails this area is renowned for snowmobiling. Current grooming report is here. Snowmobile rentals are available from Leavenworth Snowmobiles at the 59’er diner, info here. Guided snowmobile (and horse drawn sleigh rides) are available at Mountain Springs.
Ice Skating: The volunteer supported rink at Kahler Glen is open for skating, to check rink conditions check here. The skate shed has an extensive collection of loaner skates. Help is always needed at the rink to “flood / resurface” the ice after a day of use or after a snowfall to clear the rink. Both activities are a great way to work off last nights desert. Snow Shoeing: Snowshoe trails are available at North and South Lake Wenatchee State Park, at Kahler Glen and on the Nason Ridge trail. Trail descriptions are avaialbe here.
Sledding: A groomed sledding hill is available at the South Lake Wenatchee State Park. Day passes are available in the parking area, a DISCOVER PASS is also required. Discover Passes or season long snow park passes (no Discover Pass needed with season passes) are available at the Midway Market.
