Given the depressing lack of snow around the lake, and the subsequent lack of XC skiing at the State Park, See and Ski, Kahler Glen and Nason Ridge, one might be tempted to just look forward to summer activities. I am happy to report the team at Steven Pass Nordic area has done a great job of making the best of a challenging season. Skied there twice this weekend and found the trails are in reasonable to very good shape depending on sun exposure. Side Track, on the north side of mainline is particularly nice. Mainline is open all the way up to the base of downhill area a total climb from close to 900′ in 7.5km. Yes, you can get above the fog and see the sun too.
